Axiom Cycling Gear

British Columbia-based Axiom Cycling Gear is creating a wave of positive change with its Seymour Oceanweave line of cycling bags – the world’s first to be made from recycled fishing nets.

Every bag in the Seymour line uses a new lightweight and durable fabric called Oceanweave, which is made from reclaimed fishnet to help reduce the amount of harmful plastics in the world’s oceans. Axiom’s Seymour Oceanweave line includes cycling panniers, trunk bags, handlebar bags, and seat bags in a variety of sizes.

Collecting and Recycling Lost and End of Life Fishing Net & Gear

Steveston Harbour Authority

Steveston Harbour Authority collects abandoned, derelict and end of life fishing gear and sends it to be recycled, keeping it out of our oceans and rivers and out of the waste stream. The program is cost neutral to the harbour authority and free for commercial fishers. Steveston Harbour Authority is also a member of the Global Ghost Gear Initiative.
